OUR HISTORY

It all started when…

a group of mums decided they wanted something different for their children’s childcare; a learning through-play approach so they set up New Stepping Stones Playgroup.

New Stepping Stones has been situated in a variety of locations in East Sheen, with even a short stint in Barnes, until it moved into the Sea Scouts Hall, Mortlake in September 1995 and they have been in the heart of Mortlake ever since.

“During my almost 30-year journey early years education has changed enormously and is now regarded as a vital stage in early childhood with its own curriculum, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) but despite this, our philosophy of Learning through Play has remained at the heart of our approach to childcare. “

“I hear and I don’t forget.  I see and I remember.  I do and I understand”.
